I expect we've all seen it, the current UK TV advert for Corsodyl mouthwash, the fun-loving model coming back from a night on the tiles, taking her clothes off, then in the last few frames taking her denture out!
Powerful stuff, and the clear, unambiguous message is 'Use Corsodyl if you don't want your teeth to fall out'.
Problem! Corsodyl ON ITS OWN isn't a treatment for gum disease. At best it masks the symptoms. Gum disease is a scourge of modern day man. It can't be treated just with a mouthwash, because mouthwash can't remove the plaque that is already there, and that's the key. Plaque removal - can you hear me GlaxoSmithKline?
