Staining from red wine, good or bad?

Foodstuffs like red wine, black tea and coffee, dark coloured berries and tumeric can all cause staining on your teeth. It's unsightly but it isn't a clinical problem because it doesn't contain bacteria. Actually it's a sign of a healthy diet. Ha, another of Nature's little jokes.

Anti-staining toothpastes are a bad idea because they're very abrasive. I do a brisk trade in repairing the damage! What to do? Use a low abrasivity toothpaste[1] and an electric toothbrush. Brush three times a day for two minutes each time.

[1] Own brand 'sensitive' toothpaste, for instance Morrisons Sensitive. Or Marks and Sparks. Or Tesco. etc.
